Canmore, Alberta is an hours drive from Calgary. It's being developed as a convenient, high-end resort town. It has not lost it's charm (yet) and they won't be able to mess with the spectacular vistas you see from every corner in town. I stopped in Canmore on my way back to Calgary from Banff just to check it out. Nice!
